Adelphia SUCKS!! I get the worst service in the world! It goes off about 4 times a day for at least 45 minutes at a time, and when they send techs out to help me, they tell me it's a problem with Adelphia's software and that they are WORKING ON IT, and that I can't get credit! THEN, they have been charging me $485.00 a month! I paid 485.00 March 16th and it's now April 6th, and they are saying I owe another 460.00! I am not ordering PPV movies, I don't owe for boxes, or anything like that! My normal bill is 140.00, and they can't tell me WHY they are charging me this ridiculous amount!

I switched (to Dish Network) because I was tired of cable outages. Tons of them in my area. I've never been happier. The signal is awesome! Much better resolution and clarity than cable has ever been able to provide. Sure, I've seen an outage where a storm took the signal away for a couple of minutes, but that's better than a 24 hour outage due to the same storm on cable. I've also compared it to "digital cable" HA! Only half the channels in my area are true digital on cable, and they are sub-standard (low res).

Why does DIRECT-TV keep jacking up their prices? Ive been a customer for 5 years now and its getting ridiculous now my Total Choice Plus package is $45.99 ,last September it was $41.99. Anyone else want to gripe to. Ive tried to talk with them but you get no real good answer from the cutomer service.
Sony

Atlantic Broadband sucks!!!!!!! My cable bill is now $103.34 a month! That's $1240.08 a year!!! I pay less for my car insurance! ...Now, Atlantic Broadband goes out every day. Today was no exception, tomorrow won't be either. I'm not exaggerating. Not even a bit. Every, single, day!!!

I think I got a pretty good deal with Dishnetwork. I have Directv 150 channel package, no premium or HD, with 3 standard recievers. I wanted to stay with Directv and upgrade but they wanted to charge me $300 for the HD box alone, and thier HD channel package with less HD channels. So I called Dishnetwork, they offered me a better 942 HD DVR for $250 and another plain DVR (622) for my master bedroom...Plus I gwt all the premium channels free for 3 months plus the first month of service is free! ...All in all my DN bill will be $75 for 180 channel package, plus HD and DVR. That's maybe $20 more than my Directv bill, but I am getting so much more. Bye bye Directv!

Howdy folks, I have just signed up to receive Dish Network equipment and programming (convert from DirecTV). I signed up because I don't take advantage of sports programming on DirecTV and because I got a great promo deal on the HD equipment with Dish Network. More than half off what I'd be paying for new equipment with Direct!

I have been a Directv customer for the past 2 years. I am thinking about switching to Dish because Directv flat-out lied to me about getting the HD package for free for 6 months. The only honored it for 3 months.

DISH in my opinion is the best for the HD viewer.

1. DirecTV does have the Superfan - NFL in HD...DISH does not. ...but
2. DISH Network has all the Voom stations that DirecTV does not.

Cable - boy this is horrible...my father in law has cable with a new LCD and it looks bad because of the picture signal...

I currently own the 942 and it is simply fabulous!!! I have tried the TIVO units on DTV and other units on DISH and this is by far the BEST unit I have ever used. So in my opinion - I am very happy and would cry if you took away my 942 and DISH HD.

I prefer Dish Network to Directv...I had Directv for a week last year.I was'nt impressed. It was more EXPENSIVE than Dish Network...and the only extra thing they had to offer was FOOTBALL...big deal. Dish Network added VOOM HD channels...I have 23 High Definition channels-which includes CBS HD and all my HD packages..includes a couple HD pay per view channels too...Plus NBA HD. Directv has 5 HD Channels...hmm..who do I want more? Let me see...easy choice..Dish Network !

My feelings are that value for content, nothing beats Dishnetwork at this point. Unless you want NFL Sunday Ticket on Directv. The Voom channels have us hooked! Nothing else compares except Discovery HD Theatre, but that is only one channel. Voom replays things, but I have enjoyed watching over and over! Just saw a new program this afternoon on our favorite channel, Equator HD. It is almost like being there! For the money, nothing else compares! So far the promised continuation of new programming on the Voom channels looks good! Concast cable is about $20/month more than Dishnetwork in our area, and with much less programming, let alone HD. Once you experience HD, it is hard to settle for less!
Zoomvoom

I finally have VOOM added to my Dish package.I LOVE IT !So fat the Monsters channel and the Live Wire news channel are my favorites.Majestic looks pretty good too. I was very nice to the installer..he looked exhausted. I gave him a big cup of ice water, Certain Voom channels look a little out of focus- RAVE,Guy TV.

Thumbs up for Dish Network! In five years of being a customer, I've never had any major problems. Anything that popped up (receiver on the fritz, channels dropping in and out), they've always handled expeditiously and with minimal hassle. When I got hooked up for HD service, the installer they sent was courteous and enthusiastic, and was as much of an audio and videophile as I am. I've been, and continue to be, a happy customer.
New York

In my area, San Jose, CA, Dishnetwork with HDTV is much cheaper than Comcast. I am paying $30 more a month with Comcast for 60 channels vs. 120 channels when I had DISH.
San Jose, CA

Here's another reason to hate Comcast. They just sent me an e-mail mouthing off about their great services, including TNT in HD. Well, the NBA playoffs just ended yesterday and I suffered through all of them in ANALOG (yes ANALOG!) while praying for a miracle. Comcast ****s. I just saw a new Dish offer, and I'm closer than I've ever been to telling Comcast to go jump in the lake (that's a polite way of putting it).

Well, I go to DISH over cable(Comcast or Brighthouse) Why? I get my local HD channels FREE using my OTA even if I cut my cable or satellite services, PERIOD! From satellite you have more choices; ex, NFL games, International channels and more spanish programming(for me). From Dish, I can get more HD Channels(10 VOOM) no ones have it!!! plus ESPN HD, TNT HD, HDNET, HBOHD, SHOHD(More than 20 channels if we included VOOM, Dish HD Pack and locals HD OTA for only $15/mo).< When I was hit by a huracan(in FL) few months ago, I have not cable for three weeks but my satellite was on all the TIME!!! with my little power plant. And the last, my HD DVR 942 can be used for two TV's and be able to record 200hrs! with caller ID on both Tv's. PIC, well the quality pic is very close on each service(satellite or cable) but the pic on HD VOOM channels is EXCELLENT. I don't try to sell you satellite service but that's was I found here when I have both services.
Jose Palm Bay, FL

I had the comcast deal for several years, and finally got fed up with the crappy quality of the analog channels (2-99) and moved to Voom (available thru Dish Network).

Why I'll be cancelling Comcast Digital Cable!
Ok I recently switched to Comcast Digital Silver package with standard HD channels, This package gives me a supposed discount of $25 for 16 months. Although service was $102 for connection and the first month of programming! Then my bill will be roughly an expensive $75 per month (including discount) and around $100 after the initial months of discount for switching from satellite! This escalated cost might be acceptable to me if service was superior to satellite, but it is far from that. I get periodic spurts of the cable blinking out, or channels pixelizing into a digital mess temporarily, or even channels just freezing up and ceasing to play. Basically the same crap we got when a bad storm came through and knocked out the satellite. We thought we'd have less of this sort of thing with cable, and that was part of out reason for getting it. However with cable it just happens whenever, with satellite only during a storm, which I prefer! Picture quality is random from channel to channel and some channels are downright fuzzy! Satellite was way more uniform with every channel in crystal clarity. Digital cable has some comparable clear channels, but others are hazy and look like I am connected with rabbit ears instead of DVI. The HD channels are nice but I'd sacrifice them for a few reasons. One, half of them only show HD content at specific times, hence you'll mostly be watching a 4:3 sqaure screen most of the time with regular SD content. Second, the other half of the HD channels that show HD content 24-7, rotate the same stuff over and over. After a few weeks you've seen it all. Third, HD is really clear and all and but it doesn't blow me away so much that I just have to have it and pay the extra $15-20 for these channels! HD looks clear, but after regular viewing of component connected DVD, PS2, and Gamecube, it only looks a fraction clearer to me, not leaps and bounds! All in all I am going to lose the cable and go back to my $55 directv without HD.
Disappointed Comcast Subscriber

I'm now paying $120 a month for cable without internet. Unfortunately, I like so many others will continue to pay horrible cable prices out of laziness or inability to have another carrier.

Adelphia charges entirely too much money for their entertainment. Their commercials blast the Dish and make false claims. They refuse to compete with the Dish and offer packages that have similar channels, and a similar pricing. You can get a plan from the Dish Network for $29.99 and get about 60 channels. If you pay an extra $5 a month you can also get the DVR service. Adelphia offers about 60 channels for their basic service for around $48 a month in my area.....without the DVR! You can save $13 a month with the Dish, and get more for your $$.
Mike

Adelphia Sukcs big time. I too finally made the switch and I am saving a lot of $$$$. I first turned off Adelphia cable and Internet where I was paying just over $100 a month for the basic 60 channels. The thing that pissed me off the most, was that last year when Adelphia switched their packages over, they started nickel and diming us. We now had to pay for each digital cable box (the first one used to be included) AND they were charging 25 Cents per remote control. STUPID! So now I have DishNetwork plus 2 dual receivers for 4 tvs and a DVR for $39.99 a month. I switched to SBC DSL (getting just slightly lower speed than cable, no biggy) for $27 and had to switch my phone to SBC, which paid off becuase that is only $30 a month. I am saving a lot of money and getting better service and features...!!!
Billy

I do have to say that Adelphia is by far the worst company I've ever had business with. I can understand if the cable goes out occasionaly, but 45 minutes everyday?
Harry

Adelphia is the worst. As a self employed bussiness owner, If I ever treated a customer the way that Adelphia treats their customers, I would not be in bussiness long at all.

I've had Time Warner for almost 1 month, having switched from Everest. I'm completely disappointed. The DVR is the exact same model as we had before. Only difference is that it doesn't work. Live TV is choppy. Watching a recorded show is as painful as having teeth pulled. I can't stand it.
Donald

Time Warner has to be the most condisending business out there. I just bought an hdtv today, and I call Time Warner up, to see if I can go pick up a new hdtv dvr box from them. NOPE, they now have me scheduled for a serviceman to come to my house 3 DAYS FROM NOW! Do they seriously think that we are too stupid to be able to hook up a freaking cable box?
Samuel

TWC in Kansas City (well, Overland Park). Worst service on the planet....the "Digital" channels are a total joke. Half of them work about 1/3rd of the time, and when they actually do the picture looks like I'm watching from Rabbit ears! Its snowy, has GHOST IMAGES (!!!!!!!), and is VERY grainy, choppy, and the sound cuts out about every 26 seconds.
Betty

What I hate most about Time Warner cable is that I have to listen to their spam ads while I waiting to talk to a real person for about 20 minutea. This is the fourth day and I still can't get anyone out to repair my lines which should have been fixed right last month. They can't do anything right. I hope they go bellyup.
KG

We moved here from Florida, Oct. of 2004. I could believe the poor customer service, and the poor equipment from Time Warner. We have three digital boxes and we have problems with all three to our vcr/dvd recorders. The box downstairs cuts off and reboots several times a day on it's own. ...You have to drive to an office to talk to someone. I have never seen such terrible service before out of Time Warner, too bad we don't have an option for another company, this is what a monoply gets you.
Frank

Time Warner has been a pain in my azz now going on 2 years. I am now in the process of changing to anybody but Time Warner!!! They suck and so does their service. They want to limit their competition here in Texas so they can keep rapeing the consumer. Guess what!!! It won't fly in TEXAS!!!!
Alan

My Bright House / TWC bill is $165.00 per month. My 2 DVR boxes are $29.00 dollars per month of that bill. One of them has a black screen on all of my HBO channels each and every night. Both of the DVR boxes lost their ability to successfully record movies some time ago.
Jeremy

Time Warner Sucks. If there was anyone else who offered 1/2 the product I would go with them, problem is they have a true monopoly on the cable service and cable internet service in Houston. Their "customer service" is nonexistent. They simply don't care about the customer at all!!
Malcom Chakery

Time Warner cable sucks and their DVR boxes are pieces of junk! I am going back to my TIVO. I never had a problem with them .Satellite TV also was sharper and clear.
Nick

Cox Cable should try to improve their service first before complaining about espn i have cox cable it is the worst cable service out there there rates are way to high it is a total monoply they you dont have to pay for the local channels but you do as you do on satelite but you do it is their way of raising rates and making someone else look bad.
